Joie de Vivre

Okay, this is the last and one of the best of the bunch. Cram full of carefully chosen material, it also has my own pseudo-confessional opus, “Lorenzo's Parting Thoughts,” that alludes to the refusal of Lorenzo de Medici to accept the terms upon which Savonarola had offered to grant him absolution from his sins. Apparently, the old tyrant of Florence agreed to free his political prisoners, and return his stolen wealth to its rightful owners, but just couldn't agree to release his powerful grip upon the government. When Savonarola set forth the third stipulation, Lorenzo turned his head to the wall and died without confessing his sins. Now that's commitment.
